“… I will make Myself known in the eyes of many nations, and they will know that I am Adonai.””
Ezekiel 38:23 TLV
I believe that G-d desires that all men come to know. I am convinced everything that He allows is for that singular purpose – to point mankind to Himself. He wants us to know – to yāḏa (have a revelation and understanding of) Him. Perhaps you see Him in the beauty of the sunrise or sunset. Perhaps you see Him as you gaze at the miracle of a newborn baby. Perhaps you see Him in the melody of a song.
He reveals Himself in various ways over and over and over again – the question is, am I paying attention?
I’m guilty of LOOKING right at something but not SEEING it. I’ll look for hours for something only to have someone else find it right away. Maybe anxiety blinds me. Maybe worry clouds my vision. Maybe it’s simply distractions. But if I have a tendency to overlook things so easily in the flesh, there is no doubt in my mind that I do the same with Adonai.
Deep within me, I want to know Him more and more. I want to yāḏa Him – to have a deep, kinsman type revelation of Him. I want to see Him in ways I’ve never seen. I long to encounter Him again and again. I truly desire more of Him. And the good news for me and for you is that He wants that too. He wants us to see and KNOW Him. He wants to reveal Himself to us. He longs to commune with us. He’s just waiting and watching for us to see what’s right before us. May He give us eyes to see and ears to hear Him in new.
Our gaze is on You, Adonai. We are looking. Help us to truly see who You are that we might be captivated again with Your beauty and goodness.
Father – thank You for Your grace and truth. Thank You for how You reveal Yourself over and over. You are good and You keep doing good. Your leadership in my life is perfect and You can be trusted. Amen.
