As For Me

“But as for me, here I am in your hand; do with me as is good and right in your eyes.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭26:14‬ ‭TLV‬‬

Jeremiah did what G-d told him to do. Jeremiah obeyed – speaking the words G-d gave him – and was seized by leaders and facing threats of death. And Jeremiah’s response? “Do what seems good and right to you.” Jeremiah knew no matter what man did – or didn’t do – to him, that G-d would have the final say.

There’s a place I’ve tried to walk in obedience. It’s a path I was certain at the time I heard His voice so I followed. I planted when He said plant. Turned when He said turn. Up and down, over and across, I followed. And at each step I’ve said those same words – do what seems good and right to you. I’ve trusted that G-d’s will would be done regardless. And I know that no matter what happens tomorrow or the next day, G-d will have the final say. Eternity can’t get here soon enough.

Father – the yoke is heavy. The burden is overwhelming. Help me hold on a little longer. Amen
