“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing. Know and fully recognize with gratitude that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, not we ourselves[and we are His]. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with a song of thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, bless and praise His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness [endures] to all generations.”
Psalms 100:1-5 AMP
He ʻâsâh us – He – the G-d of the universe – fashioned and formed us, knitting is together – joint and marrow, cell by cell, creative and called, unique in nature. He ʻâsâh us. He made us. Not ourselves. He made my son. He made my daughter. He made me. He made you. He breathed life into us. From dust to cells to flesh and bone. He ʻâsâh us. He made us.
It’s miraculous really. Every time I hold a baby I’m once again reminded of the majesty and creativity of the G-d I serve. Recently a friend came to visit. Before she conceived we prayed that G-d would open her womb. He did. There were concerns of miscarriage and the formation of his feet. We prayed. And here he is – whole, unique, and absolutely beautiful.
The verse used in today’s passage is the same in Psalms 139:
“For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was being formed in secret, And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were appointed for me, When as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape].”
Psalms 139:13-16 AMP
May we be ever mindful that we are HIS creation. He made us unique and beautiful. He placed gifts and callings within us for such a time as this. He didn’t make a mistake. He intentionally designed you and me on purpose, for a purpose. May we never lose sight of that Truth in the days ahead.
Father – thank You for how You lovingly designed me. I used to hate myself. Forgive me. Heal me. Restore me. Heal and restore our nation. You are good. Your leadership in my life is perfect and You can be trusted. Amen.
