“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].”
1 Corinthians 15:58 AMP
Blog 333…I’m so close to my goal I can see the end. I started blogging on January 3, 2022 out of obedience. I’ve long dreamt of writing a book and when I asked the Lord about it on January 1, He told me to be faithful to the Word and be disciplined with my pen. While I’ve wondered at times if anyone reads them (thank you Jackie for liking every one from day one), I have never questioned my purpose. I begin each blog as if it is the only one I’ve written and approach it with diligence, aware that my obedience to Him is what matters in the end.
The Greek word for steadfast is hedraîos – firm, immovable, steadfast, those who are fixed in purpose; and the Greek word for immovable is ametakínētos – firmly persistent, not to be moved from its place. The words have similar meanings – it’s as if they used two words for emphasis – like “strong and courageous”. In other words, do not back down, do not give up, do not be swayed – be immovable and unshakable, firmly set on the work of G-d.
I’ve had seasons in the Kingdom where I wondered if I was making a difference or if the work I did mattered. The answer is yes and always – even when I don’t “feel” like it as Mama Anita would say. I hear the Lord saying to you and to me today to not give up. Just as I am close to my goal – we are so close to breakthrough in Him. I do not know what you are facing right now or what the Lord is asking you to do, but whatever it is, do it – faithfully, steadfastly, and excellently, knowing that what you do for Him will not be wasted, ever. Just don’t give up. Keep going. Though we may not see it this side of Heaven, we can be confident that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We’re tired – I get it, so take a pause, but keep going. He is worth it in the end.
Father – thank You for Your word that encourages and inspires. You are good and You keep doing good. Your leadership in my life is perfect and You can be trusted. Amen.
