Co-Workers

“For we are G-d’s co-workers; you are G-d’s field, G-d’s building.”

1 Corinthians 3:9 TLV

I think co-workers can make work amazing or they can make work suck. Co-workers are critical to engagement and progress. Who you have beside you on a day to day basis really matters.

I’ve been fortunate over my career to have some amazing co-workers, but none like the team I serve with now. For the first time in my 16 years with this company, it feels like every one on the team I work with is moving in sync and in the same direction. Sure there are hard conversations but at the end of the day, there’s a group of people who are ride or die, committed to the end goal. I’m fortunate to be a part of this team.

When I read todays passage, the idea of being G-d’s coworker took on a whole new perspective for me.

The Greek word for “co-worker” is synergós- a companion in work and a joint promoter. The Greek word is close to our English word synergy – meaning the cooperation of agents to produce a greater effect or result than could be produced separately.

At work, there are times that I don’t always understand – but I always make a decision to trust. At work, it’s not about me and what I can do on my own – it’s about what I can bring to the team. My faith walk is no different. I might not understand- but I can choose to trust. And, by working in collaboration with Him, the work I do for the Kingdom has a far greater impact than what I could do alone.

Yes. I am in a season where I am blessed with great coworkers at work. But beyond that, I have a partnership with the greatest Co-Worker of all times, and with Him, I will not fail.

Father – thank You for Your goodness to me. Bless my co-workers. Bless the work of our hands and bless the work of my hands for your Kingdom. You are good and You keep doing good. Your leadership in my life is perfect and You can be trusted. Amen.
